He was named most valuable of the 2012 AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl featuring 100 of the country's top draft prospects.

Talons Chief Executive Officer Beau Raich believes Kinne's "talent and accomplishments at the prep and collegiate levels speaks for itself. We are excited to have GJ on our roster and looking forward to watching him make a big impact in the AFL". Head Coach Lee Johnson says Kinne brings new dynamics to the team, stating, "GJ is an outstanding athlete and signal caller. He has ability to become a great arena quarterback."

Kinne signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2012, and was released on June 28, 2012. After being released from the Jets, Kinne played for the United Football League's Nebraska Nighthawks.
