IRVINE, CA - San Antonio FC lost for the first time in club history after falling 1-0 to Orange County Blues FC at Anteater Stadium on Saturday. The match marked the first victory for the Blues in the 2016 USL season after their lone penalty goal.

The game got off to fast start as both teams went back and forth in the attack. SAFC defender Sam McBride and goalkeeper Josh Ford kept the visitors alive early in the match after OC Blues forced a quality save from the goalkeeper and a crucial block from the defender. On the other end, the Blues saw fortune on their side as SAFC midfielder Rafa Castillo was denied by the post twice.

The lone goal of the match came in the 39th minute when the Blues' Didier Crettenand converted a penalty that was awarded after SAFC defender Milton Palacios brought down Andre Campbell in the box, forcing the player to be subbed off after struggling to get back up from the challenge.

San Antonio FC came out strong in the second period, pushing and putting pressure on the Blues' defense. The team created a series of dangerous chances throughout the half, but were ultimately unable to find the net.

The match was the first loss for SAFC in their inaugural season. The club had previously been undefeated thus far with a win and two draws in their first three matches. OC Blues' win came after starting their season with one loss and two ties.

San Antonio FC will head into their third consecutive away match next week when they face the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday, April 23. The team will return to play in front of its fans on Saturday, April 30 as they take on Tulsa Roughnecks FC at Toyota Field.
