Quotes:

Head Coach Alen Marcina

(On the team's resilience...)

"What I had mentioned to the players postgame, in the locker room, was we look

at it as a collective. We look at it as three games in eight days, two road games ... we're never going to make excuses ... In the first half, we had the game under control and the final action was a bit lacking. But its soccer. And then given all the adversity, going down [a man] on the red card, but what I'm most proud of is they demonstrated why we call them the mentality monsters. These guys never stopped fighting. Going a man down, continuing to press, I thought we were the better team a man down. Created opportunities, unfortunate not to get the winner ... all in all, very very proud of the collective. The players, the staff. First team to 50 points, and seven points of nine in three games in eight days."

Defender Shannon Gomez

(On the late goal...)

"These are moments where, the game's winding down, you're not sure if the game's going to be over. If this is going to be the last kick, so throw everything forward you know. And we preach being mentality monsters, and putting your head and your body where nobody else wants to. And that was one of those moments of 'if this ball bounces free, I need to get to the ball before the goalkeeper.' That was the quick thinking, run in the box and try to equalize. We can't lose at home, so that's just one of the mindsets you have to have and I think every player on our team has adopted that."

(On the club's resiliency...)

"I'm glad you used that word because that's one of our key words. It's stuck in everybody's locker. Resilience. And it's one of those things where regardless of any part of the game we fight for every action. We got an opportunity to win the game, not from anything spectacular but just doing the simple things well, and trying to create an opportunity even if it's five seconds left ... I think it just speaks to our identity as a team."
