San Antonio Defenders Fabien Garcia and Lamar Batista Named to USL Championship Team of the Week

SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio FC defenders Fabien Garcia and Lamar Batista have been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week, after Garcia scored the decisive goal in Saturday night's 2-1 win over New Mexico United.
The centerback pair controlled the New Mexico attack, as Batista made four interceptions, three clearances and three tackles. Garcia contributed three clearances, three interceptions and two tackles as the team limited New Mexico to just three shots on target.
Garcia's goal came in the 43rd minute, striking in a deflected ball in the box to make it a 2-0 first-half lead for SAFC.
Batista's selection is his fourth of the season, with Garcia earning the honors for the second time this year.
SAFC is at home this weekend to host San Diego Loyal SC - the squad just two points behind San Antonio for third in the USL Championship Western Conference. Kickoff from Toyota Field is set for 8:00 p.m. CT, with tickets available now at SanAntonioFC.com or the SAFC app.
