TODAY'S NEWS

The 2019 San Antonio Commanders held its first of 21 Training Camp practices on Saturday at Central Catholic High School's Bob Benson '66 Stadium.

The practice started at 11:30 a.m. and finished shortly after 1 p.m. with the players wearing jerseys and helmets.

The Commanders waived Marlon Smith (DL).

Running back Tre Williams (Texas A&M) had the run of the day as he moved right off tackle, made a man miss in the hole and burst into the open field for a would-be score.

Practice closed with quarterback Dalton Sturm (UTSA) connecting with wide receiver Josh Stewart (UTSA) on a deep route down the right sideline for an acrobatic catch.

A member of The Alliance of American Football, the San Antonio Commanders have an experienced professional coaching and front office staff led by head coach Mike Riley, general manager Daryl Johnston and team president Vic Gregovits.

The Commanders compete in The Alliance of American Football with the Atlanta Legends, Arizona Hotshots, Birmingham Iron, Memphis Express, Orlando Apollos, Salt Lake Stallions and San Diego Fleet. The Commanders take their first snap on February 9 against the San Diego Fleet with home games being played at the Alamodome.
