PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Bryan Sammons and Alex Phillips combined on a two-hit shutout in a 1-0 Miracle victory over the St. Lucie Mets on Tuesday night at First Data Field.

Fort Myers has won five in a row to open its six-game road trip, with the finale in Port St. Lucie on Wednesday night.

Sammons (2-0) allowed two hits, walked two, and struck out six in his six innings of work. The left-hander has not allowed an earned run in 16 innings this season. His scoreless inning streak is up to 14.

Phillips earned his third save in as many opportunities with three scoreless frames to close out the game. He allowed one hit and struck out four. The walk was a leadoff free pass to Hansel Moreno to open the bottom of the ninth, but catcher Ben Rortvedt picked him off first for the second out of the inning.

The Miracle scored the lone run of the game in the first. Akil Baddoo walked to open the game against St. Lucie starter Tony Dibrell and then stole second. Royce Lewis moved him to third with a ground out and Trevor Larnach brought Baddoo in with a sacrifice-fly to deep left.

Dibrell (1-1) went 6.2 innings and allowed two hits. He walked two and struck out two.

The Miracle had just three hits in the game, but two went for extra bases. Baddoo doubled and Rortvedt tripled. Aaron Whitefield also had a single.

It is already the fourth shutout win for the Miracle (9-4) and their second by a 1-0 score.

The six-game road trip concludes on Wednesday night at First Data Field. Right-hander Jhoan Duran will start for the Miracle. First pitch is 6:30 p.m.
