Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms with forward Leigh Salters for the 2012-13 season.

Salters, 23, returns for his second season with the Everblades, after posting a career best 25 points (14g, 11a), along with 110 penalty minutes in 44 appearances last season. The 6-4, 225-pound winger also tallied four goals and 29 penalty minutes in 13 playoff games, and was a key contributor to the Everblades first Kelly Cup Championship last spring.

"Leigh is a big physical forward who helped us offensively and on the forecheck last season," said Poss. "He has good skill and adds toughness to our lineup. I am pleased to have him back again with us for the upcoming year."

The London, Ontario native recorded three points and 113 penalty minutes in 53 appearances split between Syracuse (AHL) and Worcester (AHL) during the 2010-11 season. Salters played five seasons (2005-2010) split between the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm and London Knights registering 84 career points (34g, 50a) and 379 penalty minutes during his junior career.

In his first season with the Blades, Salters quickly became one of the toughest players in the ECHL. In addition, he was the recipient of the team's Piper Buckley Community Service Award, for his contributions and service to the communities of Southwest Florida.

The Everblades open up their 15th anniversary season at home on Friday, October 12 against the Orlando Solar Bears.

Season ticket packages are currently available, starting at $380 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages start as low as $150, and offer a flexible option for fans. For more information on all available packages, call the Everblades office at 239-948-7825, or visit the team online at www.floridaeverblades.com.
