Fausto Carmona â Lake County Captains
Pitcher Fausto Carmona has been a star for his club this week helping the Lake County Captains to its current nine game-winning streak. The Santo Domingo, DR native went 2-0 in his two starts allowing no runs for a perfect 0.00 ERA. Carmona allowed 9 hits, only 1 walk and struck out 5 batters in his 15.0 innings of work. Fausto was masterful in his May 15th road start against the South Georgia Waves working 8.0 innings, allowing only 3 hits and striking out 3 batters in the Captains 7-0 victory for their ninth straight win.

First baseman Matt Knox along with his teammate Fausto Carmona played an integral role in the Captains current hot streak. The Lebanon, PA native collected 10 hits in his 23 at bats this week for a .435 average in his 6 games played. Of his 10 hits, 3 were doubles and 4 were homeruns to help Knox post a robust 1.087 slugging percentage. Rounding out his stats for the week were 8 RBI, 7 runs scored and a .519 on base percentage.
