
Salmon Kings See Tickets Flying Out Of The Box Office For Opening Weekend

Victoria, BC - As a result of brisk ticket sales, the Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, are recommending that fans buy their tickets early to avoid long lines and disappointment for Friday night's home opener.
Tomorrow night's game will see the Salmon Kings kick off the home portion of their 2008-09 season. One of the many highlights of the evening will be the raising of the 2008 West Division Championship Banner to the rafters of the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
"Last year's excitement has spilled over to the home opener," President Dave Dakers said, "There will be many great activities surrounding tomorrow night's game and we encourage fans to get their tickets early to ensure they are apart of the fun and excitement."
The first 4,000 fans through the doors for the home opener will receive a very special gift, a mini replica of the 2008 ECHL Western Division Championship banner!
Also the home opener will see the return of "The Noise" as the team will hand out 4,000 clappers to help the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre faithful to cheer on their Salmon Kings.
Local band Super Sauce will be playing on the plaza starting at 6:00pm with lots of great party music to get you going. At the same time, all new this season will be the Salmon Kings Kids Korner with activities and games for the junior fans.
The radio station 100.3 The Q will be on site throughout the evening hosting contests with awesome prizes all around the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. They will also be broadcasting from both outside the arena, and from inside the Islander Lounge. The Q will also reveal the winner of their "We're giving away a TANKER full of gas" contest. As a bonus they will also award $500 worth of gas to one lucky ticket holder.
The team has the honour of having 31-year military and Afghanistan veteran Chief Petty Officer O'Hara on hand to drop the puck during a ceremonial face-off.
Other highlights include a Season Tickets Kiosk where fans can find out more information on ticket deals available in 2008-2009!
Opening weekend will also see the team unveil their third jerseys on Saturday night as a part of the team's 5th Anniversary Celebration. Former Salmon King players will be in attendance for a ceremonial face-off. Plus the team will be handing out a commemorative 5th anniversary give-away for the first 2,000 fans through the doors.
Sunday's game offers fans the opportunity to skate with the Salmon Kings players following the afternoon game.
