Salmon Kings Help Raise Over $8,000 for TLC Fund

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today in conjunction with their partners 100.3 The Q and the Zone @ 91.3 that over $8,000 was raised this weekend for the TLC Fund for Kids.

Entry to the two Salmon Kings' exhibition contests this past weekend versus the UBC Thunderbirds was by donation, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the TLC Fund for Kids, an organization created by The Q and the Zone that raises funds to aid in the wellness and quality of life for all children in the Capital Region District.

The TLC Fund for Kids, created in 1998, supports causes put forth by such organizations such as Camosun College ChildCare Services, Young Parents Support Network, YM/YWCA of Greater Victoria and Scouts Canada.

Since 2005, the TLC Fund for Kids has raised over $200,000 in support of children in our community and their needs.

The Salmon Kings open the 2010-11 regular season this Friday, October 15th in Idaho with a two-game set versus the defending National Conference champion Steelheads. Victoria returns home to open up their schedule at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre with a three-game set versus the Ontario Reign beginning Wednesday, October 27th.
