St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN - The St. Paul Saints have hired Sean Aronson as media relations director and play-by-play announcer, the club announced today.
Aronson will serve as the club's main contact for local and national media and provide the play-by-play call for all Saints radio broadcasts.
A six-year veteran behind the microphone, Aronson spent the last four seasons with the Fort Myers Miracle (class A, Minnesota Twins) as director of broadcasting/media relations. He called all 140 games for the Miracle from 2003-06 along with select Twins spring training games during the last two seasons on the local ESPN affiliate
Like the Saints, the Miracle is owned and operated by the Goldklang Group, a sports entertainment consulting and management firm.
"We're excited to welcome Sean to our organization," said Derek Sharrer, Saints executive vice president and general manager. "I've known Sean for several years through the Goldklang Group, and when this position became available, his name shot right to the top of the list."
Aronson takes over behind the microphone for Kris Atteberry, who was recently hired by the Twins to serve as pre-game and post-game host on the team's new radio network.
"All broadcasters have a dream of making it to the Major Leagues and there is an impressive lineage of great broadcasters that have come out of St. Paul, including Kris Atteberry," said Aronson. "The Saints are one of the trend setters in all of minor league baseball and I look forward to working with Derek and the incredibly talented and creative staff in St. Paul."
Aronson, 29, began his career in baseball with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (class AAA, Colorado Rockies) during the 2000 season as an account executive. In 2001, he began a two-year stint broadcasting for the independent Allentown Ambassadors.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Colorado, Aronson was born and raised in Northridge, CA.
