Saginaw Spirit News Release
Saginaw, Mich. - Earlier this week, the Saginaw Spirit awarded a total of $4,750 to 14 area youth hockey players prior to their game against the Flint Firebirds. The initiative is a multi-year commitment between the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation and Huntington National Bank designed to grow the game of hockey and further develop our region's youth hockey players, both on and off the ice. This season's scholarship program was open to youth hockey players ages 18 and under from Saginaw, Bay City and Midland hockey associations competing during the 2023-2024 season. The Saginaw Spirit would like to thank all of the applicants who applied for the inaugural scholarships and congratulate the 14 scholarship winners.
Bay County Hockey Association: Brett, Bently, Kody, Ethan and Owen
Midland Amateur Hockey League: Brantley, Grady, Cole, Lila, and Landen
Saginaw Amateur Hockey Association: Oliver, Austin, Georgia, and Raymond
Later this season, the Saginaw Spirit will be auctioning autographed player posters, and the funds raised will benefit the 2024-2025 scholarship fund. Look for the new player posters displayed in the Guardians of the Ice wall on the arena concourse outside the Budweiser Red Room. Scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 season will be available in late summer 2024.
