Today, Causley Trucking and the Bay City Country Club partnered with the Saginaw Spirit to present Military Appreciation Night! The Spirit fell to the Whalers by the score of 2-0. Jake Paterson made 29 saves in goal for the Spirit.

In the first eight seconds, Vincent Trocheck and Mitchell Heard went head to head in a fight. Trocheck would be ejected after the scuffle for removal of the helmet. Moments later, Whaler's center, J.T. Miller scores on a power play against Spirit goalie, Jake Paterson. The score at the end of the first period was 1-0.

Both teams played an even battle in the second period, until Plymouth's Rickard Rakell scored, with assists going to Mitchell Heard and goaltender Scott Wedgewood. The score at the end of the second period was 2-0 and that is how the game would end, as neither team was able to muster a goal in the third period.
