
Brandon Gormley Named Team QMJHL Captain for Subway Super Series

Victoriaville, QC - The Canadian Hockey League in association with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today announced the players that will serve as Captains and Assistants for Team QMJHL in the 2011 SUBWAYé Super Series which begins Monday night in Victoriaville, QC, followed by game two of the series to be played Wednesday November 9, 2011, in Quebec City.
Brandon Gormley of the Moncton Wildcats will captain Team QMJHL, with forwards Phillip Danault of the Victoriaville Tigres, Jonathan Huberdeau of the Saint John Sea Dogs, and defenceman Morgan Ellis of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to serve as assistants for both games.
Gormley, a 19-year-old from Murray River, PEI, is playing for Team QMJHL for the fourth straight year in this event and served as an assistant captain last season. The Phoenix Coyotes prospect was selected 13th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and has recorded 16 points in 16 games this season.
Danault is an 18-year-old Victoriaville native playing for his hometown Tigres and has 18 points in his first 19 games this season. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, 26th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks. Huberdeau, an 18-year-old from St-Jerome, QC, was named MVP of the MasterCard Memorial Cup last season. The third overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft has recorded 28 points in 13 games this season since returning to the Sea Dogs after an extended stay at the Florida Panthers training camp. Ellis, a 19-year-old from Ellerslie, PEI, was selected in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. The Screaming Eagles' defenceman has 12 points in 17 games this season.
All four players serve as captains of their QMJHL club teams.
