Sacramento Mountain Lions News Release

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento Mountain Lions, of the United Football League, have now completed five days of training camp.

Sacramento Mountain Lions head coach DENNIS GREEN led his team through two more training-camp practices on Wednesday at Sacramento City College. Green says the quarterback competition between Ryan Colburn, Adam Tafralis and Arkelon Hall is tight.

"We are giving all three of them the same amount of work," Green said. "All three are working pretty hard. We just have to keep working, we have a little ways to go."

Mountain Lions offensive coordinator MIKE KRUCZEK, who played quarterback in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins, agrees that a clear starter has not yet emerged at quarterback.

The Mountain Lions opened training camp on Friday and Green is generally pleased with the progress of his team so far.

"We are off to a good start," Green said. "The guys that are new this season have picked up on our offense and defense very well. That is exciting."

Wide receiver TAYE BIDDLE, who was on the Mountain Lions in 2010, says, "The offense is looking good. We have a few minor kinks. But I think you can expect that during the first few days of camp."

Training camp will run daily through Sept. 8 at Sacramento City College. There is no practice on Sept. 4.

Practices run daily from 8:15-10:30 am and 11:30 am until about 12:30 pm. Players and coaches are available for interviews following all practices. The practice on Saturday, Sept. 3, will be held at Natomas High from 8:15-10:30 am.

Media will be alerted if there are changes to the schedule.

Sacramento went 4-4 in 2010 and averaged about 18,250 fans for the home games.
