
Sacramento Mountain Lions Announce Open Player Tryouts

Sacramento, CA - Thursday, March 17, 2011 - The Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League will hold four open player tryouts in May.
The Mountain Lions, coached by Dennis Green, will hold their first tryout at San Diego High's Balboa Stadium on May 7.
The team will then host tryouts in Sacramento on May 14 (at Foothill High) and May 15 (at Natomas High). The fourth and final player tryout will be at San Mateo Community College on May 22.
Registration begins online at www.sacmountainlions.com on March 25. Players can also sign-up in person between 7:30-8:45 a.m. on the day of each tryout.
Each tryout will run from 9 a.m. to noon and the fee is $60. They are for all positions, including kickers and punters. Athletes will be timed in the 40-yard dash and will participate in a series of individual and team drills.
"Our entire coaching staff is excited about the opportunity to have these four tryouts," Green said. "All the players who came out last year (to tryouts) worked hard and quite a few made it to training camp."
The UFL season will begin in August. The game schedule has not been finalized yet.
