
SaberCats to hold open tryout

SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 21, 2006) - The two-time Arena Football League champion San Jose SaberCats will be holding an open player tryout at the club's practice facility in Sunnyvale, Calif., on Saturday, July 29, 2006.
The tryout, which is open to players not currently enrolled in college or who have already exhausted their eligibility, will be similar in format to Standard Football Combine standards.
All players will be weighed and measured, followed by tests in the 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, broad jump and 225-pound bench press. In addition, participants may be asked to participate in a series of position-specific drills and one-on-ones.
Interested participants are encouraged to pre-register on the team's official website, www.sanjosesabercats.com, at a cost of $40. The fee is payable by credit card. Walk-up registration is $50 and must be paid in cash. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with testing starting promptly at 9:00 a.m.
