New Mexico United News Release
Albuquerque, NM - New Mexico United is thrilled to announce that defender Kalen Ryden has signed a new deal with the club, bringing him back to the Black & Yellow for the 2024 season. 2024 will be Ryden's fifth season with the club.
"Kalen is a leader on and off the pitch, and has been an invaluable member of the United family," said New Mexico United Sporting Director Itamar Keinan. "His return ensures defensive strength and incredible balance, making the club better prepared to challenge for titles."
Since his arrival ahead of the 2020 season, Ryden has been a true force. He is the all-time New Mexico United leader in clearances, aerial duels won, and blocks, and has been named co-captain four times. In 2023, Ryden's 153 clearances were third-most in the USL Championship, and his 91 aerial duels won were the most in a single season in club history.
