Rycroft Returns for 2006-07

Quad City Mallards News Release
Moline, IL-The Quad City Mallards today announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Jesse Rycroft for the 2006-07 season. Rycroft is back for a second season in the Quad Cities after making his pro debut with the team last fall.
Rycroft recorded 19 points (nine goals and ten assists) during his rookie season. The 24-year old power forward recorded six points (four goals and two assists) in the final 12 games of the season. Before joining the Mallards, the Scarborough, Ontario native spent four years at the University of Toronto. During his collegiate career, Rycroft scored 46 points on 16 goals and 30 assists.
"We were very enthused with Jesse's progress last season," said Mallards President Tim Taylor. "In the final quarter of the season, he raised his game to another level and really showed all of us what he is capable of doing. We expect great things out of him this year."
"I'm looking forward to working with Jesse," said Mallards General Manager and Head Coach Brian Curran. "He had a good season last year and still has some untapped potential. He's one of the best in the league at protecting the puck. We expect more good things from him this year."
In other Mallards news, forward Carlyle Lewis has left the organization to play in Italy. Lewis was signed by the Mallards on June 29th of this year and was scheduled to make his debut with the team this fall.
"Obviously, I'm disappointed by Carlyle's decision," said Curran. "Nevertheless, we're moving forward and have been talking to players that will fill his role on the team."
