Chicago Hounds Continue to Build Roster

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (August 28, 2006) - The Chicago Hounds and Coach Greg Puhalski announced today the signing of the four newest players to the 2006-2007 roster. Forwards Blake Stewart, and Todd Grant along with defenseman Rod Aldoff and goalie George Papachristpolous strengthen the Hounds roster. Coach Puhalski is excited to bring these four to Chicago for the upcoming season.

Forward Blake Stewart (6 feet, 170 pounds) comes to the Hounds with two years experience playing in the UHL. Last season, Stewart played for Adirondack Frostbite, Port Huron Flags, and Missouri River Otters. Combined, Stewart scored 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists). Hailing from Roselle, IL, Stewart is excited to be playing close to home.

"He is working hard this summer to be a full time contributor," said Coach Puhalski. Adding, "Playing in Chicago will be exciting for Blake."

Todd Grant (6 foot, 190 pounds), from Palestine, Indiana, also spent last season playing in the UHL. With both the Kalamazoo K-wings and Richmond Riverdogs, Grant was a key component in the offensive game. Prior to his UHL career, Grant played four years of NCAA Division I hockey at Miami University in Oxford, OH.

Coach Puhalski recognizes Grant's skill and energy as an asset for the team. Puhalski says, "He is going to have a great year for us. Todd's excited to get the season started."

Rod Aldoff, the 6 foot, 200 pound defenseman from Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada brings experience to the Hounds this season. Aldoff 's knowledge comes through playing over a decade of professional hockey both in the US and internationally. Last season, Aldoff played with the Pensacola Ice Pilots (ECHL).

"Rod will be a reliable all around player for the Hounds. He makes a good first pass and has natural intelligence for the game," said Coah Puhalski of the veteran's addition to the Hounds Roster.

Rookie goalie, George "Papa" Papachristopolous rounds out the latest additions to the Hounds talented roster. Originally from Montreal, Papachristopolous played last season at Bowdoin College in Maine. As a 2005 All-USCHO Team member, he has a strong NCAA career as his foundation for the upcoming season.

On Papachrsitopolous, Coach Puhalski commented, "He had a great career at Bowdoin College and comes to our organization highly recommended."

All four players are great additions to the Hounds Team Roster and all are excited to play for the new UHL expansion team during the inaugural season.

The Sears Centre, home to Hounds hockey, is an 11,000-seat state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.
