Cedar Rapids, IA - If the first game of the 2010 World Series with food and beverage specials isn't enough for you to attend the Kernels World Series Party on Wednesday, October 27th, here's another great reason to be here when the doors open at 6:00 pm.
Meet former Cedar Rapids Xavier and current Oakland Athletics outfielder Ryan Sweeney and his brother, Toronto Blue Jays second round draft pick and former Cedar Rapids Jefferson infielder, Kellen Sweeney. They will be available to sign autographs starting at 6:00 pm.
The Kernels will also give fans the first chance to buy 2010 game-worn road jerseys, as they will be on sale for $125, plus tax, with the exception of #20 and #28, worn by Mike Trout in 2009 and 2010. The remaining jerseys go on sale to the general public at 10 am on Thursday, October 28th on a first-come, first-serve basis by calling Scott Wilson at (319) 896-7612 to place your order. Phone ordered jerseys are $125, plus tax (7%) and a $5 shipping charge. The two jerseys worn by Mike Trout will be sold via an auction through the Kernels Ebay store, starting Monday, November 1st.
It's also your first opportunity to purchase Kernels 10-game Anytime Coupon Books and $5 Gift Certificates at the World Series Party. Orders are currently being taken, but this is your chance to get yours before they're released to the general public on Thursday, October 28th.
Admission to the World Series party is FREE with food and beverage a la carte. Reservations are NOT needed, so bring your family and friends for a great night of World Series baseball on Wednesday, October 27th, starting at 6:00 pm.
The Kernels open the 2011 MWL season on the road at Peoria on Thursday, April 7 and host Wisconsin on Monday, April 11 at 6:35 pm.
