Rapid City Rush News Release

RUSH STORYLINES & UPCOMING OPPONENTS:

* Headed Home - To kick off their 2011-12 campaign, the Rush have played eight of their first twelve games on the road. Beginning this week, the Rush will enjoy the friendly confines of the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for five-straight contests and seven of the next eight overall. After that, the team will make a road trip to south Texas where they will play four games in five days.

* Shorthanded Trio - With three shorthanded goals in Friday's tilt against the Allen Americans (Reaney, Limpright, Schultz), the Rush tied a franchise and league record. The only other time the Rush picked up three shorthanded goals was during the inaugural season, way back on March 18th, 2009 in Wichita. The last team to accomplish the feat was the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on February 11th of last season.

* Penalty Shots - Scoring the final goal of the game on Friday night was veteran Jesse Schultz who collected the tally on a penalty shot. It marked the first penalty shot, for or against, the Rush this season. Rapid City went the entire 2010-11 season without a penalty shot conversion (4 missed, 3 stopped). The last time the Rush have capitalized on a penalty shot was back on February 6th of 2010 (Colt King @ Arizona).

* Early Injury Bug - In the early going of the 2011-12 campaign, the Rush have had an uphill battle when it comes to injuries. The team has already lost 27 man games due to injury and has a trio of players (Anthony Perdicaro, Derek Knowles and Joe Grimaldi) on the injured reserve. To fill the void, the team has recently acquired forwards Patrick Knowlton and Sean Wiles. The Rush have also brought in Air Force 2nd Lieutenant Brett Nylander. Last Saturday, in a home contest against the Fort Wayne Komets, Nylander suited up for his first professional game. He attended and played four years of NCAA hockey while at the US Air Force Academy.

Upcoming Schedule:

- Wednesday, November 23rd vs. Evansville IceMen

- Friday, November 25th vs. Evansville IceMen

- Saturday, November 26th vs. Evansville IceMen

- Friday, December 2nd vs. Fort Wayne Komets

- Saturday, December 3rd vs. Fort Wayne Komets
