Allen's Marco Cousineau Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

TEMPE, AZ (November 22, 2011) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Allen's Marco Cousineau has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 20, 2011. It marks the second straight week an Allen net minder has won the award as Cousineau follows on the heels of Brian Mahoney-Wilson who captured the honor one week ago.

The St. Lazare, Quebec native had a busy week playing in four games in five nights and coming away with at least a point in every matchup. Cousineau faced 150 shots total, and stopped 139 of them (.927 save percentage), ending the week with three wins and one overtime loss.

Perhaps his best performance was his first of the week, a 41 save effort in his club's 5-2 win at Rio Grande Valley. The next night, also against the Bees, Cousineau stopped 34 shots in a 4-3 OT loss. This past weekend, the former third round draft selection of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Draft combined to make 64 saves in two victories over the Rapid City Rush.

Allen is currently 8-2-3 on the season with 19 points and are on top of the Berry Conference and have the highest point total in the CHL.

On the season, Cousineau is 4-0-1 and is second in the league with a 2.38 goals against average and third with a .931 save percentage.
