May 10, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Chicago Rush News Release
The Chicago Rush is going to the playoffs for the eighth-consecutive season. Despite not playing this weekend due to a bye, the Rush (8-2) clinched a playoff spot last night thanks to San Jose's 63-42 win at Arizona.
Chicago has now qualified for the playoffs in each of its eight seasons in the Arena Football League. Entering this season only Orlando (16) and San Jose (8) had longer active playoff streaks than the Rush.
"We are excited to know that we have achieved out first goal in qualifying for the playoffs," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "But it is just the first step on the way to our ultimate goal of winning another ArenaBowl title. I am looking forward to the final six games of the regular season and, what we all hope will be a long playoff run."
The Rush returns to action on Monday, May 19, when it hosts the Los Angeles Avengers at Allstate Arena. Fans wishing to purchase tickets to the LA game may order by calling Ticketmaster at (312) 559-1212, or by visiting the Ticketmaster Web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
