Rush Break World Record for Largest Group Hug
February 7, 2018 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Saskatchewan Rush News Release
Saskatoon SK - Saturday evening (February 3rd, 2018) was Bunny Hug Night at SaskTel Centre, as Rush fans took shelter from the cold. Rush Nation warmed up quickly in the second half, when a world record attempt took place.
All in attendance were encouraged to break the world record for largest group hug. A vast majority participated, by placing arms around one another (as seen in photos).
With 14,387 in attendance, the record was decisively broken. Complete strangers linked together, to create a special moment of unity and solidarity.
While the broken record has not been officially recognized, Saskatchewan will now hold bragging rights for some time. The record was previously set at 10,554 people in an event organized by Bear Hug III (Canada) at the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 7 May 2010.
