RUSH ADDS ARENABOWL CHAMPION FULLBACK KINSINGER

November 5, 2007 - The Chicago Rush added another key piece to its offense today with the signing of fullback Matt Kinsinger to a two-year contract. Kinsinger, who comes to the Rush from the ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats, will replace veteran Bob McMillen in the Rush backfield.

McMillen retired at the conclusion of the 2007 season and joined the Rush coaching staff after a 13-year playing career that saw him named one of the 20 Greatest Players in Arena Football League history.

"We thought Matt was a perfect fit for the Rush system - and the best available fullback for our needs," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "We are excited that we were able to bring him to Chicago. He is an outstanding blocker and, although not a flashy runner, knows how to get the tough yards when you need them. With Bob McMillen coaching him, we don't think we are going to miss a beat at fullback this year."

"I am really excited about coming to Chicago," said Kinsinger. "I played with Bob in San Jose and he became one of my good friends. Now I am excited to have him as my coach. I am grateful for the opportunity the Rush is giving me to come to Chicago. The more I find out about the organization the more I like it - it is filled with a group of people who just want to win, and you can't ask for more."

Kinsinger (6-1, 262, Slippery Rock) is entering his eighth season in the AFL after spending time with Houston (2001), San Jose (2002-2005, 2007) and Las Vegas (2006). He was a member of all three of San Jose's ArenaBowl championship teams - 2002, 2004 and 2007.

In his career he has played in 82 games, rushing for 491 yards and 38 touchdowns, while catching 15 passes for 144 yards and two TDs.
