Colorado Crush News Release

DENVER, Colo. - Colorado Crush head coach Mike Dailey announced Friday that nine-year veteran place kicker, Clay Rush will make his triumphant return to Colorado for the 2008 AFL season.

Rush, who spent time last season with both Arizona and Kansas City, kicked for Colorado in 2005 and 2006 and is most well remembered for his 20-yard game-winning field goal in ArenaBowl XIX against Chicago.

The two-time AFL kicker of the year signed a free-agent contract on Friday and was excited to be back kicking for the Crush.

"It just felt like home," Rush said. "I have a real strong tie with my teammates here and we have done special things in the past and I hope we can recreate that environment again."

The signing of Rush is just one of a handful of off-season moves the Crush coaching staff has made. Colorado picked up three additional athletes in the 2008 dispersal draft and is close in coming to terms with several players in the coming days.

"We are very excited to have Clay return to Colorado," Dailey said. "He is definitely one of the best in the AFL and we are ecstatic to have him back in a Crush uniform."
