Rumble Bees Training Camp Opens Today

BATTLE CREEK, MI - The First-ever training camp for the Battle Creek Rumble Bees is now underway today at their hockey home of The Rink Battle Creek, downtown in our town. On this date, Head Coach Clint Hagmaier welcomed some 30-players, vying for 20-roster slots as the pro hockey club prepares for its maiden voyage season of 2019-20 as a bona fide member of the ten-year old Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL).

The Rumble Bees opening day training camp roster consists of four goaltenders, eight defensemen and 18-forwards. Coach Clint has scheduled two-a-day sessions for both today and Tuesday as well as single workouts Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Training camp will be culminated with a morning skate this Saturday morning at 10:15am, followed by an inter-squad scrimmage at 5:00pm. Today's workouts are at 9:45am and 4:30pm; Tuesday at 9:45am and 2:30pm. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning, the pre-season sessions are on the docket for 9:30am.

For the 2019-20 campaign, there are ten teams comprising the ten-year old FPHL. The League is divided equally into two five-teams' divisions. The Rumble Bees are members of the West Division where they will compete with the likes of the Port Huron Prowlers, Carolina Thunderbirds, Columbus, GA River Dragons and Danville Dashers. The East Division membership includes the Danbury, CT, Hat Tricks, Delaware Thunder, Elmira, NY Enforcers, Mentor, OH Ice Breakers and Watertown, NY Wolves.

The Rumble Bees are one of four expansion teams debuting in this new season. The other new entries are Columbus, Danbury and Delaware.

The countdown is on for opening weekend for the Rumble Bees. Battle Creek's new professional hockey franchise will be formally unveiled with a pair of home games FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH AND SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26TH VS. THE DANVILLE DASHERS. Both games are set for 7:35 PM at the home of the Rumble Bees, The Rink Battle Creek.
