LOVES PARK, Il. - Last season, former Aviators pitcher, Drew Rucinski, became the first Rockford Aviators alumni to make his Major League debut when he took the mound for the Los Angeles Angels against the Texas Rangers late in the season.
This season, Rucinski is picking up right where he left off.
In the Angels second Spring Training Game of the season on Friday afternoon, Rucinski took the mound in relief against the Colorado Rockies in Tempe, Arizona.
Rucinski hurled two hitless, scoreless innings while allowing one walk and recording one strikeout.
After spending most of his time with the Arkansas Travelers, the Angels Double-A affiliate, last season, Rucinski is fighting for an Opening Day roster spot with the Angels.
