
RubberDucks' Doug Nikhazy Named Pitcher of the Week

(AKRON, OHIO) - Akron RubberDucks left-hander Doug Nikhazy was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for Week 2, April 8-14.
Nikhazy struck out eight batters over five scoreless innings in the RubberDucks' 2-1 loss to the Richmond Flying Squirrels on April 11.
Nikhazy is the first member of the 2024 RubberDucks to be named Eastern League Pitcher or Player of the Week this season.
A 2021 second-round pick (58th overall selection) out of Ole Miss, the 24-year-old Nikhazy is in his third season with the RubberDucks. In two starts this season, he is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA (tied for the lead in the Eastern League) and 13 strikeouts (fourth in the Eastern League) over 10.0 innings pitched.
The Akron RubberDucks will return to Canal Park to begin a six-game series against the Erie SeaWolves on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:35 p.m.
