
Royals Open 40th Season At Home Thursday

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals open their 2008 Pacific Coast League season with an eight-game home stand at Rosenblatt Stadium, with the season opener on tap for this Thursday, April 3rd, at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Albuquerque Isotopes. Following four games with Albuquerque, the Royals will take on the Round Rock Express in a four-game series. These exciting promotions are scheduled for the first home stand of the season:
Thursday, April 3, 7:05 p.m.: Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the 1st 2,500 fans receive an Omaha Royals magnet schedule, courtesy of CarMax. It's also Thirsty Thursday with $1 beers and Cokes during the game, courtesy of 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and The City Weekly. Werner Enterprises Fireworks follow the contest and then enjoy the live music of The Whipkey Three, presented by Two Fine Irishmen!
Friday, April 4, 7:05 p.m.: Werner Enterprises Fireworks follow the game, also presented by KFAB, KETV and The City Weekly!
Saturday, April 5, 7:05 p.m.: Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the 1st 1,500 fans will receive a retro Omaha Royals cap featuring the 1990's crown logo, courtesy of Werner Enterprises, 1620 The Zone, WOWT and The Reader!
Sunday, April 6, 1:35 p.m.: It's U.S. Bank Family FUNday, with clowns, face painting and balloon art, plus all kids are invited to run the bases after the game, also presented by KGBI-100.7 FM and KPTM-Fox 42. All Royals Kids Club members receive a free ticket to the game, courtesy of SUBWAY. Area American Idol contestants Chris Bernheisel and Jess Hotovy will perform Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone." It's also the first Hit the Books game (more details directly below).
Monday, April 7, 6:35 p.m.: For the series opener vs. Round Rock, enjoy $1 Hot Dogs, courtesy of 89.7 The River! It's the second of three Hit the Books games this season - over 16,000 school kids in 43 elementary schools signed up for the program. Students who read four books receive two free tickets to the Hit the Books game of their choice, presented by the Nebraska College Savings Program!
Tuesday, April 8, 6:35 p.m.: It's 2uesday, featuring $2 General Admission tickets and $2 hot pretzels, while coffee and hot chocolate will only be $1, courtesy of Valpak, Z-92 and The Reader!
Wednesday, April 9, 6:35 p.m.: All kids EAT FREE, receiving vouchers for free meals at the SUBWAY concession stand, courtesy of SUBWAY, Star 104.5 and The Omaha Newspapers!
Thursday, April 10, 11:05 a.m.: Take a long lunch and watch the Royals derail the Express in the home stand finale!
