
Rox Shell Bravehearts for Opening Day Win

BROCKTON, MA - The Brockton Rox defeated the Worcester Bravehearts 11-3 on Wednesday night, winning their first home opener in two seasons. The Rox advanced to 2-2 on the year, making it their second consecutive win.
Max Marchetti started the game for the Rox, impressing right out the gate. He finished with 4.2 innings pitched, allowing two hits and striking out five. JT Gunzy then came in and got the win for the Rox. He finished with a statline of 2.2 innings pitched, five hits, one earned run and one strikeout. James Clarke got the loss for Worcester, allowing four total runs with four walks.
There were three home runs in the contest, all by the Brockton Rox. Jack Fitzgerlad was the first to go yard, belting a two-run home run over the right field wall. Ashlin Gilio was the next to homer, smacking a grand slam over left field to bring the Rox to nine total runs. Finally, Conor Campbell hit a solo shot to right field, giving the Rox their tenth run of the ballgame.
Ryan Moriano also saw work for the Rox pitching staff. Moriano finished the game, going 1.2 innings, allowing no runs with just two hits.
