
Rox Offense Explodes for 11 Runs to Sink Anchors

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Alexandria Blue Anchors 11-3 Wednesday night. Eight Rox had RBIs while nine players had hits.
Zach Pop (University of Kentucky) started the game for the Rox and went four innings while striking out five batters. Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State) came into the game in the fifth inning and finished the game. Gregory had three strikeouts and the win.
Brandon Benson (Georgia College) started the offensive onslaught for the Rox in the bottom of the second inning on a fielder's choice that scored Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota). The scoring continued as Brett Pope (Western Carolina University) drove in Benson and Webb Bobo (Southeastern Louisiana University) with a double then was followed by doubles from Jake Farr (Tennessee Tech) and Michael Strem (Boston College) to complete the five run inning.
The offensive explosion for the Rox, in front of a crowd of 1,821, saw three players with two hits and three players score two runs.
The Rox return to action tomorrow night in Alexandria. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The Rox return home on Tuesday, June 23rd as they take on the Duluth Huskies at 7:05 p.m. It will be the fourth annual Bark in the Park Night presented by Granite City Pet Hospital. First 200 dogs receive a Rox dog collar. Bring your dogs to the ballpark to benefit the Tri-City Humane Society.
