
Kingfish Take Two from Kalamazoo

Kenosha, Wis. - The Kingfish took both games from the Kalamazoo Growlers in Tuesday's doubleheader. Kenosha won the first game 5-4 on a Zach Ratcliff walk off sacrifice fly in the tenth inning. The Kingfish took the nightcap by a final of 10-2 to extend their winning streak to four straight games.
In game one, the Kingfish trailed 4-0 entering their half of the third. Zach Weigel brought home Zach Jones with an RBI single. Alex Borglin added his own RBI single to bring home Jack Sundberg to cut the deficit to 4-2. The Kingfish added one in the sixth and entered the seventh inning needing a run to extend the game. With the bases loaded, Nick Sergakis walked to bring home Jones and tie the game. The game stayed that way until the pinch hitter Ratcliff delivered with a game winning sac fly. JR Holloway picked up the win after pitching a scoreless inning of relief. Brendon Allen started and went five innings, striking out five along the way.
In game two, it was an offensive firestorm for Kenosha (17-5). The Kingfish used a six run inning in the second to grab a quick 6-0 lead. Kenosha added four more in the fifth, including a Ratcliff two run home run. The win helped the Kingfish keep their lead in the Northwoods League South Division by five games. Ryne Blanton earned the win for the Kingfish to improve to 2-0. Derek Schneider took the loss for the Growlers (6-16).
The Kingfish are on the road for the next six games, starting with a game at Wisconsin Rapids tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. The Kingfish return to Simmons Field on Tuesday, June 23rd and are home thru June 25th. Great seats are still available for all three games.
