Brockton Rox News Release
The first two batters of the game for Brockton set the tone for the offense the rest of the game. Ben Porter lead off the inning with a walk, and Jack Lambrecht did more than enough in his first at-bat, ripping a 2-run home run to left field.
The Rox scored 3 more in the first with RBI's by Alex Perry and Jake Marotta. The Rox got a little help with a defensive miscue by Navigators catcher, Mike Dacunti, that allowed Trent Turner to score.
The Brockton bats didn't cool off. Three runs in the third and two in the fifth allowed Brockton to stretch their lead to 8. Jack Marotta lead the charge during those two innings with 2 hits and an RBI.
Brockton's arms did their part in limiting the Navigators offense. David Moyer started the game and went 3 innings without giving up a run. Anthony Egeln pitched well during his 4 inning stint, going 4 innings while giving up 2 runs.
The game came to an abrupt end when lightning in the area stopped the game at the end of the 7th inning, with the Rox winning convincingly 11-2.
The Rox improved their record to 2-3 and travel to Torrington tomorrow to play the Titans (2-2), where they look to climb to .500.
The Rox return to Campanelli Stadium Thursday, June 9, when they once again play the Torrington Titans. First pitch is at 7:05 at Campenelli Stadium. Come enjoy Thirsty Thursday with $2.00 Miller and Coors Lite draft beers!
