Brockton Rox News Release

(Brockton, MA – July 1, 2003) Brockton Rox manager Ed Nottle and Bangor Lumberjacks skipper Kash Beauchamp have been selected to manage in the Northeast League's All-Star Game, the league announced Tuesday. Nottle will manage the American team, while Beauchamp handles the world squad.

Accolades are nothing new to Nottle, he has been named Baseball America's Minor League Manager of the Year as well as the Pacific Coast League and International League Manager of the Year in the course of his 42-year career. Nottle is a 3-time Northern League All-Star manager.

"Having the U.S. players against the World is a unique concept," said Rox manager Ed Nottle. "Independent ball continues to break barriers; the big leagues should take notice if they are looking to spice things up."

Ed Nottle, now in his sixth decade of professional baseball, is in the midst of his second season at the helm of the Brockton Rox. He has made the rounds coaching including Oregon, Connecticut, Washington, Rhode Island, Iowa and Minnesota prior to arriving at Campanelli Stadium.

Nottle compiled over 1,150 minor league victories during his managerial career. His interests are not limited to baseball, he has recorded an album with the Oakland Symphony Orchestra entitled, "To Baseball, With Love."

The Brockton Rox play their home games in the city of Brockton's new, state-of-the-art baseball facility, Campanelli Stadium adjacent to the Shaw's Center, a meeting and banquet facility. The club plays a 92-game schedule in the eight-team independent Northeast League.
