Abilene Prairie Dogs News Release
ABILENE, TX - After exiting on in the fourth inning on July 11 with discomfort in his left groin, Adam Rowe has been removed from the inactive list and will start on Sunday night. Abilene released Gunner Glad to create roster vacancy.
Rowe is 2-3 on the season with a 2.76 ERA but has not won a start since June 2 at Rio Grande Valley. The lefty last started on July 11 against Fort Worth when he allowed eight hits and five runs and exited with no outs in the fifth inning.
Rowe, a former 20th round draft selection of the Kansas City Royals, has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but two starts this season. His July 11start marked the first time that the lefty did not complete at least six innings in a start.
Glad was 0-1 on the season with a 5.56 ERA in 21 relief appearances. The right-hander from Oklahoma was in his first season as a pitcher after serving as a utility player both at the University of Kentucky and in two seasons with the Minnesota Twins farm system. He last appeared in 1/3 of an inning on Thursday night, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks (two intentional).
The Prairie Dogs conclude a six-game home stand when they clash with the McAllen Thunder at 6:05 on Sunday night. Hear the game on 106.9 KLGD or on the internet beginning with the First Financial Pregame Show at 5:55.
