RoughRiders Trade for Forward Yusaku Ando

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have completed a trade with the Youngstown Phantoms. The Riders acquire Yusaku Ando in exchange for a trio of 3rd round picks. The Riders will trade 2022 Phase I 3rd round pick, 2022 Phase II 3rd round pick, and a 2023 Phase II 3rd round pick as a part of the deal.

General Manager and Head Coach Mark Carlson is excited about the move. "We are thrilled to add Yusaku to our team. His speed, playmaking ability, and hockey sense will be a big plus for our team on a nightly basis. Yusaku will fit in nicely with our style of play."

Yusaku Ando is a native of Tomakomai, Japan. He totaled 16 goals and 32 assists for 48 points in 85 career games for Youngstown. Ando is committed to Minnesota State - Mankato after his time in the USHL is complete.

Ando represented Japan in international tournaments. He skated in the U18 Division 1B World Juniors in 2018-19 and U20 Division 2A World Juniors in 2019-20. Not only did Ando produce in those tournaments, 14 points in 10 games combined, but Japan won the gold medal in each tournament.
