RoughRiders Take Two in Arkansas

The RoughRiders swept the doubleheader on Monday in Arkansas, defeating the Travelers 5-4 in game one and 10-0 in the second contest. In game two, Frisco starter Kasey Kiker (5-5) had a no-hitter through six frames and Chad Tracy led the offense with four RBI, including his team-best 12th home run.

In game one, the RoughRiders jumped out to an early 3-0 led in the first inning when Dustin Majewski scored on a ground out by Mitch Moreland followed by a two-run home run by Johnny Whittleman. Springfield battled back with a run in four different innings to take a 4-3 lead. Frisco answered with a run in the seventh to tie the game at four when Craig Gentry hit a sacrifice fly. Tracy's RBI single in the eighth frame put Frisco on top 5-4 to win game one.

In the second contest, Frisco out-hit the Travelers 13-1 as Kiker didn't allow a hit until the seventh frame. The RoughRiders scored early and often with two runs in the first frame when Moreland and Tracy hit RBI singles. Frisco then scored four runs in the third and four more in the fourth frame to take a commanding 10-0 lead.

Beau Vaughan (1-0) earned the victory in game one throwing 1.2 scoreless frames and in the second game, Kiker threw six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and three walks, striking out five.

Tracy had five RBI on Monday as Frisco combined to hit four home runs between the two games.

Frisco will go for their first sweep of the season on Tuesday in Arkansas against the Travelers with first pitch at 7:00 p.m.
