
RoughRiders' Phillips Named to U.S. Under-17 Team

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Cedar Rapids RoughRiders defenseman Paul Phillips has been named to the United States Under-17 Select Team that will play in the 2007 Five Nations Tournament August 20-24 in Strakonice, Tabor and Pribram, Czech Republic.
The Riders selected Phillips, 15, in the sixth round of May's United States Hockey League Draft with the sixty-seventh overall choice. The Darien, Illinois, native skated for the Chicago Chill midget program last season.
Team USA will take on Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic at the Five Nations Tournament. The 21-player roster is composed of players who participated in last month's USA Hockey Select 16 Player Development Camp in Rochester, New York.
The RoughRiders will open their ninth season in Cedar Rapids this fall. 2007-08 season tickets are currently available through the RoughRiders' business office (319-247-0340). Fans who pay for season tickets in full before August 15 will receive a significant discount in addition to a host of other benefits available exclusively to season ticket holders.
