Roughnecks To Hold Season Ticket Holder Party Tonight

MIDLAND, TX. : The West Texas Roughnecks will be holding their Seventh Annual Season Ticket Holder Party tonight (Tuesday, March 9) from the new front office location at 10716 Highway 191, Suite #6 in Midland. The party will be tentatively starting at 6:00 p.m. Food will be provided by Olive Garden along with beverages and fans will have the opportunity to meet Roughnecks Players, Front Office Staff Representatives & Team Owners. Fans will additionally have the opportunity to pick up their season tickets for the 2010 season before the home-opener on Saturday, March 13 versus the Amarillo Venom.

Roughnecks Make Roster Adjustments -

The West Texas Roughnecks additionally announced on Tuesday, March 9 that OL Courtney Abbott and LB Chad Lindsey have been released. Abbott (6'8", 345 lbs.) was reacquired by the Roughnecks back on February 24 and he saw playing time in the Roughnecks season-opening win over the Abilene Ruff Riders (36-33) back on Saturday, March 6. Abbott spent three previous seasons with the Roughnecks organization from 2007 to 2009. Abbott played in eight games on the offensive line in 2007 and nine games in 2008. Abbott started on the offensive line for the Roughnecks in every game of the 2009 season. Abbott played collegiately at Florida State University after spending two years at East Mississippi Junior College.

Chad Lindsey (6'1", 235 lbs.) signed to the Roughnecks back on February 19 and made the active roster following training camp in Andrews, TX. Lindsey played collegiately at Arizona State University where he played in five games as a reserve linebacker in 2007. Lindsey redshirted in 2006 as a member of the ASU scout team and was one of only two true freshman to have significant playing time in 2005 by playing in 10 games. In 2005, Lindsey became the first true freshman linebacker to play 10 or more games since the 2002 season. He would post five total tackles with one tackle-for-loss and a sack during the '05 season.
