FC Tulsa News Release
The Tulsa Roughnecks and Head Coach David Irving have announced plans for a pair of tryout camps that will be held in Tulsa. The combines will be used to identify potential players for the Roughnecks, a new professional soccer club that will begin play in March 2015.
The two separate combines will be held on January 17-18 and February 14-15. Players interested in applying to participate in either of the combines need to complete an online registration form. The cost is $150 per camp, per participant with local players and players outside of the Tulsa area invited to attend.
Players will need to register online.
At each combine, Irving will put the players through two days of training sessions and competitive matches in order to analyze each participant.
Both camps will be held at the Mohawk Sports Complex just minutes from ONEOK Field.
The Roughnecks are bringing professional, outdoor soccer back to Tulsa for the first time in nearly 30 years and will compete in USL PRO with teams such as Seattle Sounders 2, Los Angeles Galaxy 2, Oklahoma City Energy FC and St. Louis FC. Their inaugural season will get underway in March of 2015 and will run through September 2015.
Mohawk Sports Complex is a City of Tulsa Park conveniently located off U.S. Highway 75, just minutes from downtown Tulsa at 3500 E. 56th Street North. The Tulsa Sports Commission markets and manages the complex that includes 17 soccer fields and welcomes over 200,000 visitors annually from across the state, region and nation. The complex hosts a variety of regional and national events for soccer, quidditch, lacrosse and more. In July of 2015, the complex will host the U.S. Youth National Soccer Championships, the country's oldest and most prestigious national youth soccer tournament.
