Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary, AB - Calgary Roughnecks General Manager Brad Banister today announced the signing of giant defenceman Ryan Davis to a one-year deal.
Davis, a 6'5" 225 lb. native of Edmonton, is currently playing in his fourth national championship in four years.
He appeared at the Founder's Cup in 2002, the Minto Cup in 2003 and 2004, and now is with the Sherwood Outlaws at the President's Cup.
"Ryan is a big defenceman who will bring great size and speed to the team," said Roughnecks assistant coach, Jeff Dowling. "He's really versatile too. In a pinch, he can play transition and he also has a great touch around the net."
The National Lacrosse League's 2005 entry draft is set for the Rexall Centre, Edmonton Monday night (August 29). The draft starts at 6 p.m.
This is considered the strongest draft in many years and Calgary picks 13th, 18th and 20th.
