PREVIEW - Tulsa Roughnecks FC will look to keep its good form going with a pair of matches at ONEOK Field this weekend. The Roughnecks are unbeaten in their last four matches, with their last loss coming over a month ago to Los Angeles Galaxy II on June 27. The run of good play has moved Tulsa into the thick of the Western Conference playoff race.
The Roughnecks and Whitecaps 2 met for the first time last Friday in Vancouver and Tulsa posted a 4-0 victory. All four goals came in the second half after a scoreless first half.
The Roughnecks and Arizona United battled to a 1-1 draw in Scottsdale in their first meeting on May 9.
The game will be broadcast live on Tulsa's Sports Radio AM 1300 with Jeremie Poplin, David Saunders and Andy Lorei calling the action. The broadcast can be heard online at 1300TheBuzz.com. It will also be shown live on the Roughnecks FC YouTube channel.
RECENT FORM - The Roughnecks enter the weekend unbeaten in their last four outings. Prior to its big victory in Vancouver on July 24, Tulsa posted a 4-1 home win over Orange County on July 9 and a 3-1 home victory over Colorado Springs on July 11. In between, on July 18, the Roughnecks drew 1-1 on the road against the Oklahoma City Energy in the latest round of the Black Gold Derby.
The Roughnecks enter the weekend matches only two points out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference standings. They have a total of 25 points with a 7-8-4 record. A win on Friday would move them to .500 for the first time since the second match of the season.
Friday's loss to the Roughnecks ended a run of good form for the Whitecaps 2. WFC2 had gained points in three of its four previous matches before the defeat. For the season, Vancouver have 23 points with a 6-10-5 mark and occupy the 9th spot in the West.
Arizona United play at Oklahoma City on Friday. United enter that match with 22 points and a 7-10-1 record, good for 11th in the Western Conference. They are winless in their three prior matches and have one win in the last five.

MORE HONORS FOR BALLEW; BOND RECOGNIZED - For the third time this season, Brady Ballew was named to the USL Team of the Week. In the win at Vancouver, Ballew netted his fourth goal of the campaign while also getting his fourth assist. His four goals are tied with Gibson Bardsley and Kyrian Kidd for the team lead.
Chad Bond was named as a substitute on the squad. The midfielder picked up his team-leading fifth assist in the win. His assists total ties him for seventh-most in USL this season.
CLEAN SHEET FOR FEENER - Jake Feener recorded his first-ever shutout as a professional in the win over WFC2. He has started the past for matches for Tulsa and has logged a 0.75 GAA. The mark would rate as the second-best goals against average in USL if he had enough appearances to qualify for the league leaders.
ATTENDANCE - The Roughnecks have averaged a paid attendance of 4,767 for their nine home matches this season, the fourth-highest average among all USL teams. Tulsa trails only Sacramento, Louisville and Rochester in average attendance.
THE KIDD IS HOT - Kyrian Kidd has been a valuable substitute for Head Coach David Irving during Tulsa's recent good form. Kidd has scored goals in three of the past four matches after coming on as a second-half substitute.
