OKC Energy FC News Release
OKC Energy FC (7-5-7) returns home to Taft Stadium, winless in its last seven games and having tied its last four, for Friday night's match with Arizona United SC (7-10-1). Energy FC enters play in fifth-place of the USL's Western Conference, following a 0-0 draw against Saint Louis FC last Saturday.
OKC forward Danni Konig leads the USL in goals scored and has recorded nine goals in Energy FC's last nine games, including OKC's last five goals dating back to June 27.
Arizona comes in losers of three straight, last two at the hands of the Austin Aztex. In those three games, Arizona managed to score just a single goal, while surrendering seven. Long Tan leads United SC in goals (8), points (17) and shots (39). Arizona ranks 23rd out of 24 USL teams in goals allowed (36) and 24th in goals-against average (2.00).
Friday night's match marks the first meeting of the season between the two clubs who faced off four times in 2014, with Arizona winning the series 2-1-1. The clubs will face each other once more, in OKC's regular season finale on Sept. 16 in Arizona.
