Roughnecks Fall 15-11 to Rush

Calgary, AB - Tonight the Calgary Roughnecks wrapped up their regular season home schedule in front of 15,167 fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Despite tying the game 11-11 in the final frame, four consecutive goals from the visiting Edmonton Rush led to a 15-11 setback.

Jeff Shattler tallied four third-quarter goals for Calgary, while Dane Dobbie (2g, 2a), Scott Ranger (2g, 2a), Curtis Dickson (1g, 3a) and Shawn Evans (1g, 3a) also recorded four points each. Dan MacRae, with a goal and an assist, and Daryl Veltman, with three helpers, both contributed with multi-point efforts.

Curtis Knight recorded nine points, including six goals, for Edmonton, while former Roughnecks forward Cory Conway added seven assists. Riley Loewen (3), Mark Matthews (2), Robert Church, Jarrett Davis, Zack Greer and Chris Corbeil, with an empty net marker, also scored the Rush.

Mike Poulin stood between the pipes for Calgary, making 30 saves, while Aaron Bold stopped 30 of 41 shots he faced to record the win.

The Battle of Alberta continues next weekend, Saturday, April 19, when the two clubs meet for the fourth and final regular season matchup at Rexall Place in Edmonton (7:00 p.m. MT). Calgary will then close out the regular season against the Vancouver Stealth on Saturday, April 26, with an 8:00 p.m. MT face-off at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, BC.
