Edmonton, AB - The West Division-leading Edmonton Rush defeated the Calgary Roughnecks 11-9 on Saturday evening at Rexall Place to split the home-and-home series.
The Rush, with two early three-goal runs, were led offensively with five-point efforts from Mark Matthews (3g, 2a) and Robert Church (2g, 3a).
Dane Dobbie (5), Curtis Dickson (3) and Shawn Evans provided the scoring for Calgary with Evans adding seven assists to finish the night with a game-leading eight points.
Evans hit 500 career assists with his fourth helper of the night, becoming the 11th player in NLL history to reach this mark. With his eighth point of the game, the Roughnecks sniper also surpassed the NLL record for most points in a single season, set by John Grant Jr. at 116 in 2012. In addition, Evans' league-leading 117 points eclipses the franchise record he set in 2013 when he finished the regular season with 112 points.
Aaron Bold made 33 saves to record his 10th win of the season while Mike Poulin, in a relief appearance, had 36 stops for Calgary.
The Roughnecks (5-11) will now travel to Minnesota (5-10) for a match-up against the Swarm on Apr. 18 at Xcel Energy Center. Following a bye during Week 17, Calgary will wrap up the regular season against the Vancouver Stealth (4-10) on May 2 at the Langley Events Centre.
