Gibson Bardsley has been Tulsa's top offensive producer this season, and he delivered again Saturday night against his former club. Bardsley's goal in the 59th minute gave the Roughnecks a 1-0 win at Orange County and capped a successful three-game road trip to the west coast.

The victory gave the Roughnecks a win against the one of the Western Conference's top teams. The Blues entered the match with only one loss in their last six matches.

The win improved the Roughnecks record to 2-4-2. With 8 points, they are tied with Oklahoma City for ninth place in the Western Conference standings.

In its final game of a three-game road trip to Arizona and California, Tulsa turned in its best overall performance of the season.

The Blues had been averaging two goals per game, but the Roughnecks defense limited their chances in the match. Tulsa goalkeeper Zac Lubin was rarely tested and recorded his first shutout of the season.

Bardsley's goal was his team-leading third of the season. It came on a corner kick from Chad Bond. His header beat Blues' keeper Pepe Miranda for the only goal of the match.

The Tulsa backline of Ben Brewster, Mason Grimes, Kyle Venter and Iarfhlaith Davoren made sure the goal held. They helped Lubin keep the clean sheet over the final half hour to give the Roughnecks their first road win of the season.

Tulsa will now return home for U.S. Open Cup action. The Roughnecks will play host to PDL side Seacoast United Wednesday night at the University of Tulsa Soccer and Track Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00PM.
