Roughnecks Back in Action Thursday & Saturday at ONEOK Field

Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be back in action at ONEOK Field on Thursday, April 2. The Roughnecks will host Saint Louis FC in their second match of the season, with kickoff slated for 7:00PM.

Activities in downtown Tulsa will get underway Thursday at 5:00PM with the Roughnecks Rally at the Guthrie Green. The Roustabouts will lead the March to the Match at approximately 6:00PM.

The match will feature a number of promotions. The first 1,000 fans to enter the stadium through the Arvest and Oil Derrick Entrances will receive a Tulsa Roughnecks FC car decal courtesy of the News on 6 and AM 1430 The Buzz. It is also a Thirsty Thursday with 16 ounce soft drinks and 16 ounce Budweiser products for only $2 per serving. In addition, it will be Modelo Especial Happy Hour with Modelo cans on sale, two for $5. Lastly, TYPROS members can purchase tickets in the Roustabouts section for only $10 each.

Fans will also have a special opportunity prior to the game. Original Roughnecks legend, Alan Woodward, will be on the stadium concourse from 6:00-6:45PM to meet fans and to sign autographs. Woodward, who was nicknamed the Boomer because of his powerful shot, played for the Roughnecks from 1979-1981 after starring for Sheffield United in England.

The match will be the first of two in three days for the Roughnecks. They will host the Austin Aztex at ONEOK Field on Saturday, April 4. Kickoff is again slated for 7:00PM with the Roughnecks Rally getting underway at the Guthrie Green at 4:00PM. The March to the Match will again take place at 6:00PM.

The first 1,500 fans to enter the stadium with a paid admission will receive an orange, Inaugural Season T-Shirt from Hillcrest Health System, Tulsa's Channel 8 and Cox Radio.

Tickets for both matches this week, and all other matches this season, are available online at TulsaRoughnecksFC.com, over the telephone at (918)744-5901 or in person at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office. A number of season ticket packages are also still available.

NOTES:

Head Coach David Irving has officially added two more players to his squad. Midfielder Chad Bond and defender Iarfhlaith Davoren are expected to arrive in Tulsa this week from Europe. Bond, a native of Wales, has been playing for Port Talbot Town in the Welsh Premier League. Davoren is from Ireland and has been playing for Sligo Rovers in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland. . . The Roughnecks drew 1-1 with Oklahoma City in their first ever regular season game in USL, while Saint Louis FC was beaten 2-0 by Louisville in what was also those two teams first match. Austin began its season with a 2-0 win at home over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. . . .The Roughnecks Rally will take place at the Guthrie Green prior to both matches this week. There will be food and drinks available as well as activities for fans of all ages. The Roustabouts, the team's official supporters group, will also be teaching fans specialized chants. As is tradition in many cities, the Roustabouts will then lead a March to the Match at 6:00PM as all fans are encouraged to march as one into ONEOK Field. The rally and march will take place prior to every Roughnecks game this season. . . .The Roughnecks first-ever goal came from an unlikely source, a defender. Brady Ballew made franchise history when he curled a shot past OKC goalkeeper Evan Newton in the 71st minute of Saturday's opener. . . .
