
Roughnecks Add 2 More to 2016 Roster

The Tulsa Roughnecks roster for the upcoming 2016 USL season continues to grow as two more players have signed contracts and completed registration with the club. Head Coach David Irving announced today that defender David Abidor and midfielder Adriano Pellegrino have both finalized deals with the Roughnecks.
David Abidor joins the Roughnecks after playing his first professional season in Sweden.
The 23-year-old Abidor joins the Roughnecks after beginning his professional career last year with Dalkurd in Sweden. In the spring of 2015, the Northbrook, Illinois native spent time in training camp with both the Roughnecks and Real Salt Lake of MLS before heading to Sweden.
The 6' 1" defender played collegiately for Dayton and Creighton Universities. His first three seasons were spent with the Fliers where he made 51 appearances and was named their Rookie of the Year following his freshman campaign.
He joined Creighton prior to his 2014 senior season, making 20 appearances. He helped the Bluejays to one of their most memorable years as they won their first-ever Big East regular season title in his lone season in Omaha. They finished with a #9 national ranking and advanced to the quarterfinals of NCAA Tournament.
Pellegrino comes to Tulsa from Thailand where he has been
Adriano Pellegrino has spent most of his professional career in the Australian A-League.
playing with Division 2 side Udon Thani. The 31-year-old midfielder has made 41 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals.
Before moving to Thailand, Pellegrino had spent most of his professional career in the top league of his native Australia. He played three seasons with Perth Glory, appearing in 80 matches for the A-League squad, scoring 5 goals and collecting 16 assists. He was voted the Most Glorious Player by the other players following his first season with the team.
He left Perth and moved to the Central Coast Mariners and played in 24 matches over two seasons.
He has also played for teams in Malaysia and Cambodia during his career.
As a youth, Pellegrino represented Australia in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.
The Roughnecks are slated to play two more preseason matches. TRFC will travel to Dallas to face SMU on Wednesday morning before closing the preseason by facing NPSL side FC Wichita at ONEOK Field on March 19.
Tulsa will open the USL regular season on Saturday, March 26 when Rio Grande Valley (Houston Dynamo 2) visits ONEOK Field.
Tickets for both matches, as well as season tickets, are now on sale.
